Personal Post: Baby Update
Hello lovely readers! It has been awhile since I did a personal post, and the main reason for that is mainly that I have been so busy with work I haven't had much time to think about anything personal! But it has been about four months since my miscarriage (you can read that story here), and I am just starting to feel like I might be ready to think about trying again. Basically since January, I haven't had any positive thoughts about pregnancy and have been trying to avoid the subject at all costs (not so easy when you and everyone you know are at prime baby-making age). But recently, I have started to feel more ready. One of the main signs of this is the fact that I started pinning baby things again! In all seriousness, I'm starting to feel slightly less terrified of starting the whole ordeal all over again, and have been more and more excited about the possibilities. June and July are prime getting knocked up months for teachers so it looks like in a couple weeks, Mr. B and I will be back in the saddle again (sorry for those mental images, Mom!)! I will be sharing some details (hopefully not too many) of my experiences with the tricky beast that is getting pregnant with you all. From this point on, I will be wishing and hoping that this time around we end up with our third "bee"!

The Color Run Recap
This past weekend, the hubs and I and a couple of our friends headed down to Orange County for the Color Run. The Color Run travels all over putting on family friendly and fun 5Ks that each benefit a local charity. The premise of the race is runners show up in white T-shirts, and each kilometer of the race are doused with colored powder that seeps into the skin and supposedly washes off with soap and water (though the race was Saturday and I still have some pink spots on me!). This is what the the hubs and I looked like pre-race...
And here are some shots from along the course. Please keep in mind that these were taken with my phone, while it was in a plastic bag to protect it from the colors so they are a little blurry!
At the end of the race, each runner is given a packet of their favorite color powder and then there is a big timed release where everyone throws their powders in the air. I chose to stand back and snap this shot rather be in the fray, and instead threw most of my powder at my friends :o)
Here is the crew post race....nice and colorful! Despite some poor organization in the parking lot of the race, and the heat (we ran at 12:30), the race was tons of fun and we will definitely be signing up for it again the next time it is in town!

Wedding Wednesday: 1920's Inspiration
I don't know about you, but I have always had a love for all things 1920's. With the release of The Great Gatsby (which you should see for the costumes alone), it seems like the roaring 20's are popping up everywhere these days, including weddings. How fun it would it be to do a whole Gatsby themed wedding? Starting with the most important thing...the ring!
How stunning are those rings? Gorgeous and unique. If you are lucky enough to end up with one of these beauties, let it dictate your big day style! You can let the 1920's influence the fashion of the bride and the bridesmaids.
1920's art deco can also be incorporated into your invitations, cake, and decor.
Hope you are now as inspired by the 1920's as I am! If you are thinking of planning a 1920's themed event, leave me a comment and let me know about your details!

Baseball Wear
Hello lovely readers! Now that baseball season is upon us, I have been spending quite a bit of time attending games and watching on TV. I don't know about you, but nothing annoys me more than girls who dress up for sporting events. Heels to a baseball game? Short little dress in a hockey rink? No. Not okay. However, just because you shouldn't be getting all dolled up for the big game, doesn't mean you can't look cute. Check out these adorable baseball goodies that you could totally rock at any game without having to feel like that girl. (Click pic for original source, all pics via Pinterest.)
And this one is just funny. I have actually seen a couple wear these to a baseball game and they are pretty awesome!
See? Tons of ways to look cute and girly, but still acceptable for a baseball game! Now put down the heels and walk away.

Gold Polka Dot Vase
Since yesterday was Mother's Day and I finally got to give my mom this gold polka dot vase I have been holding onto since forever, I can now share with you the tutorial! This is what I got to hand over to Mom for her Mother's Day/Birthday (Happy Birthday, Mom!) celebration:
You have probably seen different versions of this baby floating around Pinterest. Here is how I made mine. I took a vase I already had, some sticker paper, a one inch circle punch, and a gold paint pen.
I punched out some holes in a section of the sticker paper.
And stuck it onto the vase, making sure it was nice and smooth with no bubbles around the actual holes.
Then I filled in the circles using the gold paint pen. It took a couple of coats to get full coverage. I let the circles dry and then peeled off the paper.
And there you have it! Finished product is super pretty and kinda glam!
Perfect for spring and summer!

Wedding Wednesday: Disney Weddings
Hello lovely readers and happy hump day! For any of you who know me personally, you know there is one place I love more than any other on the face of the planet: Disneyland. Disneyland has been a huge part of my life basically since I was one year old. I religiously visit the Happiest Place on Earth on my birthday and have been a passholder for over ten years (I don't even want to think about how much money that has cost me!). Naturally, when planning my own wedding, many people assumed I would be having a "princess" wedding, and more than one person asked if I would be holding my ceremony in front of the castle (y'all do know I make my living as a teacher right?). As much as I would have LOVED to have had my wedding at my favorite place in the whole wide world, it would have been a selfish decision as the hubs is not nearly as Disney crazed as I am (like he only goes there because I make him). Though he is very good about going with me to the park whenever I want, that would not have been his ideal wedding, and that made it not my ideal wedding either. But I'm not going to lie, thinking about a Disney vow renewal at some point in the future is pretty tempting.....
That was a lot more explanation that I was planning on! Let's get to the good stuff. Today I wanted to bring you some of the awesome things you can do with a Disney wedding (and that doesn't necessarily mean a wedding at Disneyland or Disney World). I think most people associate Disney weddings with poofy dresses, huge centerpieces, and a horse and carriage, but to me a Disney wedding doesn't have to equal princess. Disney is all about being fun, playful and a kid at heart, and that is what I love about Disney weddings and that's where my inspiration comes from. (Click pics for original source.)
Disney wedding inspiration can start from the very beginning, with these Disney inspired engagement rings:
I'm partial to Sleeping Beauty, myself! There are also multiple Disney inspired dresses (many of which are of the poofy variety, but not all!). I think these two are both beautiful!
I absolutely adore this Disneyland inspired save the date, and these super cute invites.
Most Disney wedding cakes are a little much for my tastes, but I think these ones are simply adorbs.
And if you have seen the Disney/Pixar film Up, you know what an AMAZING love story it truly is. Incorporate some cute Up elements into your big day (balloons anyone?) for a fun and playful vibe.
I know Disney weddings are not for everyone, but I couldn't resist. Unfortunately, now I am planning my Disney vow renewal in my head....don't know how the hubs is going to feel about that one....

Wedding Wednesday: Orange and Gray Color Baord
Hello lovely readers and happy Wedding Wednesday!
Today, I have for you a lovely grey and orange wedding inspiration board. I pulled some images for this color combo after hearing about a wedding of a high school classmate who used this scheme. Gotta admit, not one I would have thought of on my own, but I totally love it! A little something bright to help you get through the week!
Photo sources clockwise from top left: bridesmaids; flowers; invitation; bridal party; groom; flowers; cakes
Pretty huh? I am digging this combo, especially for summer! Very unique and super pretty!

Cooking Skinny!
One thing I feel like all women have in common is issues with their weight. Whether it is gaining or losing or having too many curves or not enough, it seems like we all want to change our body shape in one way or another. I am no different. Before I found out I was pregnant at the end of December, I was doing really well with Weight Watchers. I had lost about 20 pounds and was doing okay at maintaining (hey, it's better than gaining!) during the holidays. But between the pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage, I gained back all but five of those hard earned lost pounds. So now I am back practically where I started and it sucks. But there's no sense whining about it right? Instead, I'm jumping back on the WW wagon because I know that for me, it works. So of course I took to Pinterest for some healthy meals inspiration to try to spice up my diet just a wee bit. These are all on my list of recipes to try! (Click pic for original source, all pics via Pinterest.)
Hungry yet? I am! Can't wait to try some of these guys out! I'll let you know how they turn out!
