East Coast Highlights: Philly

Along with a new obsession for brick buildings (click here to read all about that), we also took away some history from our trip back east.  Given that the majority of our trip was spent drinking beer and eating yummy terrible food, we didn't spend to much time doing the touristy stuff, but we did manage to squeeze in some of the must sees in Philly.

We actually got some history and culture!  Starting with Independence Hall...

Saw the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the Revolutionary War...

Visited one of Edgar Allan Poe's houses, in need of some serious renovation...

Ate a Philly cheesesteak at one of the originals, Geno's...

And no road trip would be complete without a  flat tire!  Luckily, we had plenty of time to get a new tire and still make it to our game that night.  Also, luckily we had two boys with us who actually knew how to change a tire, and a nice Philadelphian who stopped by with a jack to help us out!

Tours of Citizens Bank Park in Philly and Yankee Stadium are posted on my sports blog, here.  Make sure you check it out!  Stay tuned for more of our trip highlights, there's plenty more to see!

  1. Wow, the words on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier are quite moving. A great reminder to be thankful for our military as we approach Independence Day! God bless 'em all.
